About the company
A kiwi success story is looking for their next React engineer (with a little PHP thrown in). Someone to fully own the front end development and guide a project from a blank canvas to production.
The organization has been plugging away on a brand new platform, and the backend is (mostly) there ready to go. Now it’s about time for a front end wizard to come in and say “This is how we build modern web applications”.
About the role
The right person will be the “go to” front end developer with answers for :
- Do we need SSR?
- Should we build the UI using ShadCN, Material UI, or just completely roll our own UI?
- Do we build out extensive unit tests using Vitest or do we jump immediately to full end to end testing using Playwright?
- What’s the best way to host this app? Do we need Vercel or can we host it in Azure?
These are the questions that the successful candidate will be diving into on day one. The chance to really own the entire front end is here and it would suit someone who wants to take all those “mistakes” they saw in previous roles and do things the “right” way.
This role, while rooted in React, also requires a bit of backend skills in PHP along the way. The team is small and so someone who can debug why an API isn’t quite returning the correct response is super important.
What you will bring
You’ll have worked building modern web applications in React/PHP previously, and have all the stories of “Well, we ran into that problem before, here’s how we solved it”.
You will need all/most/able-to-fake-it of :
